As our regular readers may have noticed, HEAD Magazine is no longer being published. Nikki and I, after much deliberation and not a short period of angst, concluded that external pressures (of work, family and the responsibilities of life in general) had grown to a point that rendered HEAD Magazine an untenable draw on our personal resources. Neither of us any longer had the necessary time to devote to HEAD in order to ensure that we could maintain the quality, attention to detail and depth of consideration that HEAD represents. Rather than allow the quality of our publication to suffer, and because neither of us wanted to reduce the publication frequency or the size of each issue, we decided to call it a day and quit while we were aHEAD (pun intended). We are leaving the entire back catalogue online and available for anyone and everyone to access (just click on 'ARCHIVE' above), and we hope that it will help future generations to understand what online art publishing is all about. HEAD was among the first – and we like to think the best – and it should be available for all, always. Obviously we are both extremely disappointed, but for some time we knew that a labour of love such as HEAD was always going to eventually succumb to the fact of its own premise. We sincerely hope that the quality and innovation inherent in HEAD will be preserved and maintained simply by not trying to keep it going; by leaving it as an enclosed, encapsulated, complete entity, and as a monument to itself. We would like to take this opportunity to offer our warmest and most heartfelt thanks to all the supremely talented contributors that we have had the pleasure of featuring over the last 5 years, and of course to all the readers of HEAD Magazine: no one grasped the real concept and ethos of HEAD Magazine more comprehensively than you, and it has always been immensely gratifying to receive your compliments and praise. Your appreciation and enthusiasm have been exactly the type of reaction that encouraged Nikki and I to continue our endeavours and to always strive for the very best that we could achieve in terms of presenting something special and unique. Thank you.
